Obstacle Event
The purpose is to 1) desensitize your horse to various objects which may startle or scare it, 2) give both rider and horse practice with elements encountered on a trail, e.g. a hill, water, different footing and 3) practice maneuvering skills, e.g. opening a gate or mailbox from horseback, backing at different angles, dragging a large object.
It is best to walk your horse through or around the obstacle first for familiarity, especially if it is a new encounter. The same is true for carriage drivers. Then attempt it mounted or harnessed. Look to your horse for cues to its comfort level.

Carriage Play Day
(
Games are used as a fun way to develop driving ability and leave the fancy pleasure driving clothes at home! These can include using your whip to knock a ball off a cone, transferring objects from one location to another and maneuvering through or around cones in a specific pattern. Generally the competitors are timed and/or points given for tasks accomplished or taken for errors. Usually presented in "classes" like a typical horse show, you can participate in as many as your equine and you are physically and mentally fit to do.

Driving Derby
This is a timed competition over a course, which is a combination of marathon and cone obstacles. Each driver is timed through two separate runs with faults receiving a time penalty. Winner is determined by either best overall combined time or best individual run, whichever the organizer chooses.
This is a fun way to challenge your equine and your driving skill. Though speed counts, driving the course without errors is key.
Equine Games T & T
(Try & Try again)

This is an opportunity to try new games. Geared for the carriage driver in mind but designed to include riders, old games are new again or typical games have new variations. It is still competitive and we embrace your feedback as we explore new ways to have fun with our equines while improving our (human and equine) skills, and endurance.
Medieval Games
Following the model of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), participants are guided in "the arts, skills, and culture of the Middle Ages and Renaissance." In this case, the skills related to equines. Participants will learn and practice a skill at a "station" and rotate to another skill station until all stations are completed. Participants can clothe themselves in the period dress. This is a 2-3 hours event.

Postponed until opportunity arises.
Carriage Driving Show

A competition consisting of pleasure driving classes (turnout, reinsmanship, working), various cones classes (e.g. your route-my route, reverse psychology, fault and out), and possibly a gambler's choice, scurry, or dressage. Judging is guided by The American Driving Society, Inc. (ADS) rules.
