Five Reasons Why I Like the ETI Chili Cook-off and You Would Too.

Who else wants to try a new chili recipe? Try, as in cook a new recipe, you say? Or as in taste someone else’s recipe? Both actually! At the annual E.T.I. Convention and Horse Show, here in L.A., there’s a Chili Cook-off competition. Here is why I love it and you may too.

1. You can test a new recipe to an audience larger than those sitting at your kitchen table. (I swear, sometimes I think my family’s taste buds are dead--not Covid related--and my cooking efforts are a waste of time). An entry is only $5. Where can you gain entry for $5 nowadays?

2. For $3 you can get a tasting cup and sample the competition! You can’t do that on Master Chef. Depending on the number of entries, that’s dinner. It’s Friday date night—watch a horse competition and mosey on over to the Chili Cook-off for “dinner” or an appetizer at least.

3. Proceeds support the Junior Ambassador program – providing opportunity for youth in the equine community. They provide help throughout the horse show. If you see them, tip your hat in their direction.

4. And for fun, you get some voting tickets, so you can vote for what you think is best. Hey, the show is all about good sportsmanship. It’s possible my entry isn’t the best. Which chili would make you come back for more? (Psst, there’s a judges favorite winner and there’s the people’s choice winner.)

5. If you win, your name and Corral chapter are placed on the perpetual trophy.

So if you are a competitive person who likes to cook, put your chili recipe to the test and click here and go to page 60 for information https://en.calameo.com/read/00468292332b4a9334212

Don’t cook but like to eat chili? Put this on your calendar and plan to “Come Together” for some chili and camaraderie.
